Vice President of Apostolic Development
John Zimmer is vice president of Apostolic Development for FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students. John has served in a variety of roles within FOCUS for the last 18 years, including serving as a campus missionary, directing the national campus apostolate and overseeing the ongoing training and formation of more than 500 employees. John is currently responsible for the alignment and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan, the strengthening of the FOCUS culture and the commitment to holiness within the apostolate. John also oversees the parish, alumni and campus affinity outreaches within FOCUS and speaks and teaches throughout the country on leadership, evangelization, apologetics and Christian formation.
John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from the University of Washington in Seattle and holds master’s degrees both in business from the University of Denver and in theology from the Augustine Institute. In addition to his work with FOCUS, John has served as a director on a number of non-profit boards and currently serves on the governing board of SkyView Academy, a K-12 public charter school in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Prior to joining FOCUS, John worked in corporate technology sales. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Centennial, Colorado, where together they engage in their most important labor of love: raising their seven children.
